wow yea i really love this, i won't crit cause you said unfinished but HEADS UP* you're not supposed to post your picture to be soon by the whole board until it is finished, you're supposed to safety save.

but i really love this and I probably wouldn't have even realized it was unfinished unless you said so, it's really really awesome. it makes me think of spore a little.

This is so awesome. O_O Everything she said ^^^

I really really really like this. I cannot wait to see the next one. There's nothing about this that I think can be fixed because the stylized anatomy and simple shading really fits the picture well. Great job, in my opinion!

This looks super cool. There are a few things that stand out to me though.

This picture looks really cramped and stuffed and crowded because it seems like you just cropped the picture and accidentally chopped off part of his tail. Including the entire subject/figure would help a lot to make the tail more flowy.

Though you do seem comfortable drawing canids, the anatomy is off in some places. That includes his right forepaw which in no possible way can be bent like that; his snout which looks kind of drawn to some kind of vanishing point the the far right (but the eye is smack in the middle and staring straight up); his neck seems hunched, as normally his body would extend from where the neck ends (but in this case it's more like a bump and not a continuation of the spine); and the belly, which seems very round considering the angle it's at.

Shading with one shade can be taken as sloppy or rushed, especially on tryouts. Since we want to see you work with form and how light wraps around it, we want to see you use more shades.

The background in this case works, but I suggest making the character interact more with it in your next tryout. And a canid in space is highly unlikely to stand upright like that, considering there is no gravity.

Something else to take note of, is the fact that light in space tends to be pure white because it is so strong. Though I don't personally like shading with black and white, it's a fact. If you do, however, choose to shade a different set of colours, as you've done here, it would be great to know where this light is coming from, considering the background looks like space and there is nothing existing in space that gives off yellow light unless it's within the atmosphere of our planet. The light could come from anything, we just want you to show us what.

Good luck on your next tryout c:

oh, this is neat. normally i don't like textures with pixels, but it's pretty cool here. also i don't see one layer of shading as sloppy or rushed, it looks fine to me

Thank you and thanks for the crits :3

issi: I figured rather then squish the picture together to make it fit, it would look better to have the tail go off the page. Thanks for the tips about the anatomy as well ^-^ erm.. as far as the background lol, It wasn't in space, honestly i'm not sure where it was. It was more of an abstract thing. But I will put more thought into the background of my next tryout ^-^
