I was playing with my ferrets in my room the other day. And suddenly one disappeared, so I frantically searched for her for 10 minutes before finding her hiding in a half-empty Kleenex box. It was adorable to say the least.
and have a hot cocoa bunny.

I just gave my tiel a bath because he smelled horrible and now he temporarily despises me.
On the plus side, he smells like a daisy (or as close as he's gonna get to smelling good.)

birds are cute. i work at a pet supply store and we have a cockatoo named coral. today my co-worker washed her and she hated it. screamed the entire time and kept trying to peck her
Tuesday, November 23rd 2010, 3:31 AM
Lol, our cockatiel loved baths, or at least self imposed ones. She'd go a little nuts if she hadn't had one for a while and had jumped into body's of water when it'd been a while since she last got wet eg. the sink when washing dishes or the fish tank. The later being deep meant we had to pull her out and the former being greasy required even more bathing to deal with. However she'd frequently jump into the shower with you (whenever given the chance) so she got washed a lot for the most part. We never actually washed her with soap or anything, she sort of smelt like shainghai noodles (god knows why) but she was never particularly unpleasantly smelly.

@Rhyu: Your bird sounds adorable!
My bird always smells like corn for some reason. Which is odd, because we never give him any.
@Jessoso: She must be a nightmare when you clip her wings. D: Our pionus ripped off half of my nail when we clipped her flight feathers. A cockatoo's beak would do twice the damage, I'd imagine.
Tuesday, November 23rd 2010, 6:21 AM
Lol, the variety of food based smells. We never gave her shainghai noodles either. Though she did eat eggs and chicken. Which is kinda scary o_o.
Jessie was pretty docile actually. She never actually bit to hurt. She'd make a big show and hiss and puff up and spread her wings a bit and lunge at you with beak open but it was all show (and she didn't do that much, generally if she found some cool place to nest or if it was way past her bed time and was being like a grumpy little baby because she didn't want you to put her in the cage for the night). You could stick your hand right into that without a problem (though most people who didn't know her would think you crazy to go near that), she'd just nudge you with her beak. It was pretty easy to cut her wing feathers or toenails.
We did have a second tiel when I was really young. However that thing was NASTY and VICIOUS. Our neighbors found it on the side of the road (not injured or anything, probably abandoned because it was so hard to deal with) and since we were the only people in the neighborhood who randomly had a bird cage for no good reason they gave it to us to look after. You had to wear thick leather gloves to go anywhere near it. Also had a nasty habit of turning around whenever it shit so that it'd hit the crap with its tail like a baseball bat to send it flying across the room. Nick named it messy. We found a good home for it after it calmed down a bit though it was apparently years before they could handle it without gloves.

i used to have a little conure. I always though she smelled quite nice- kind of earthy and mild. Then again, she really liked water and she loved getting a bath so idk. every little birdie is different.
Tuesday, November 23rd 2010, 11:20 PM
I love conures. c:
I think my pionus smells good! She has a fruity smell. It's just my little grey tiel haha.
and Rhyu. gah. She's gorgeous. Is she a Pearl?
My tiel, Mayo, is a Grey/Pearl mutation. c: He is a demon when it comes to clipping his nails and wings. I have a bunch of scars on my finger from the little bugger.
Hard to believe that such cute fluffballs can cause so much damage lol

my cockatiel has a messed up beak. i'm not sure why but we periodically have to kind of clip it. oh well. she's a qt.
this picture is a qt too c:

I wish I had a cockatiel, they look so cute and playful, its fun to watch them at the pet store... we have a blue and gold macaw, and when i give him a shower, he gets so happy and will say every word he knows, he even squeals like a guinea pig (weeeep weeeeeeep like that haha) because we used to have one. but yeah birds are awesome.
Wednesday, November 24th 2010, 2:29 AM
I want one when I'm older and able to afford one haha. He sounds cuttee.
and thanks Zero! :'D
Have you tried sandstone perches? They might help a little bit.

bachura. that cute new spider pokemon.
with a semi-realistic touch?
Thursday, November 18th 2010, 3:22 AM
IN i love your shading, and i can really see the effort here ;w;
however i'd really like to see more going around with the sky, it's a little plain, now it's just a light blue chunk and all, maybe a few birds or some depth??? and surely there must be some pokemon living in that lake/river
the clouds could use some shading too haha though these are just my opinions

In from me (:
This is really nice and I definitely like the detail and coloring again. All the individual elements of this picture are fantastic. However, I'd like to see more subject/background interaction from you. In both of your tryouts, you can pretty much place any backdrop behind the subject and they'd still be acceptable. (though both of you background choices were interesting and not just grass/sky so that's good) I find that sketching the subject and background together generally eliminates this problem. I noticed in the animation that you completed the spider and then added on the background, which I wouldn't recommend.
Both of your tryouts were great though. Your attention to detail is amazing. Also, both backgrounds were interesting and unusual which is always good too (: SO in :D

Thank you both. c': <3
I will definitely try to fix my character interaction. :D
and I should have put some surskits in there! surskits are the bomb.

deer are cool.
I forgot how hard solids can be.
Anyway, please rip me apart with critique.

Ah, Lyndsay! I was gonna try out too, this is awesome we can be SRO buddies lol.
I really really love this C: It's dark yet beautiful.
Good luck, bro.
Wednesday, November 17th 2010, 1:15 AM
ahah, I'm trying out myself. Good luck!
I love how you colored the fur, and the mood in this is wonderful.
Wednesday, November 17th 2010, 1:40 AM
Ffff, thanks you guys. c':
I've missed you, Sam!

The color and mood are done really well, I would normally say to use more contrast, but I think the effect is nice here.
I would like to point out thought that the subject is in the center of the page, and the composition would be a lot better if it wasn't...
Your lines are really lovely though and I can tell you put a lot of effort into it, and the anatomy is pretty accurate as well, except for maybe the hooves which look kinda 2 dimensional compared to the rest of the picture. Overall really awesome pic.
Wednesday, November 17th 2010, 3:04 AM
i love the deers face. love it. LOVE IT. also the way you shaded the fur is pretty gosh darn neato.
i think it's body might be a bit long though idk it looks a lil awkward i think. i am bad at critique sorry
BUT YEAH THIS IS COOL GOOD LUCK
Wednesday, November 17th 2010, 4:11 AM
i really like the textures but i wish that little sliver of a tree on the right was gone xD
BUT YEAH THIS IS COOL GOOD LUCK

This is super cool and the amount of detail is just right.
I think it would look a lot better if there were more depth in it though. Like atmospheric perspective type thing...just adding a bit more grey to the most distant objects would really make the deer pop more.
This type of thing:
Just done on the ground and patches of grass(?)
also, composition wise, it might've helped to add red clouds in the sky? The white is just a bit overwhelming when the red ground isn't solid like that too.
Overall though, those are more personal preferance than actual solid critiques. Either way works I mean. Hopefully that made sense haha :D Love this picture ahh
