woahh that dragons face and muscular structure are pretty boss,
i dig the background as well, so calming :] GoodLuck!

magical: sorry, i meant to keep it on public, i just switched it to public

i think third. lineless is tricky but you've done very well, it just seems a tad messy in some places. also the membrane on the wings looks really flat and untextured, i think you're lacking some shading there, especially since you've added the scales texture to the body, it looks a little odd next to how flat the membrane is

Id like to see a third to see you refine your technique a little more, clean up some of the fuzziness and add a little more detail maybe?

lamb: thanks for the crits, and yeah, i wasn't really sure how to go about the membrane
jillian: okay, sounds nice

to me this looks like it was meant to be a night scene but the colors on the dragon look a little bright to be in the dark (if it's a day scene ignore that critique)
the dragon is really cool though i like how you added definition to the muscular structure

walter : your right, it is a night scene, and i do see what you mean, looks a bit to bright, thanks for the compliment and crits

If I may; the stars seem to stop suddenly at the subjects. It's as if there's a line around them.
Other than that, a simple redline would fix this. I've noticed that the wing-fingers are a little smooshed together on the one spot, and the red spikes on his head look like jello. I don't know why. O_O
I'm not allowed to vote because I'm not accepted yet myself, but I wish you luck all the same!<3

wow, sorry, this was ment to be full body....but i ended up with only half, sorry, i'll make sure my next tryout is full body
this is supposed to be someones OC enjoying a pomegrant (which i don't think i drew right) i hope she's holding it right, i've never eatin one, anyway, idk what the bg is supposed to be, it was just fun :3, i would really appriciate some critiques or redlines
oh, and this was drawn by request, it's someone elses artic fox character who enjoys pomegranite, this was really fun to draw

Actually, youre only supposed to scoop out and eat the seeds of a pomegranate!
you actually have some solid basic coloring skills, and the body looks pretty good, although the arm and hand could use more refining. The face is really what bothers me, it seems to stick out too much. Her eyes, nose, and lips seem to be floating on her face, the shading and highlighting on her fur around them dont hint at any structure.
WAtching the animation, the initial arm and hand you had sketched looked a lot more solid than the one you have here.
I suggest looking at references more than I would suggest redlines, when someone else redlines your work, they are including their own inaccuracies, when you study real life you are seeing things exactly how they are.
And you should try a pomegranate sometime, theyre really good.

jilian: oh, lol thanks, i didn't know that, after i finish all my tryouts on this website i might as well change the fruit ;3
and i'll try shading more solidly in my next tryout, and take a look at a few refrences
, thankyou i appriciate the crits
Monday, July 18th 2011, 6:53 PM
Yeah its kind of weird haha, if youve never eaten one or seen anyone eat one you wouldnt necessarily know that :V
something I didnt mention was that I like that you actually took fur length into account when you colored her, a lot of people dont really pay attention to that
Monday, July 18th 2011, 8:05 PM
i need to try one, oh, and thanks ;3
i'm not sure what i should draw for my next tryout..

Jillian covered all the critiques I would have said haha.
Pomegranates are fun but they're hard to eat -- literally. The 'peel' is like a rock and you need a sharp knife to even get into the edible part.. and dont' wear nice clothes when eating 'cause the juice usually gets everywhere! They are super yum though :D I want a pomegranate now

worm: really? sounds kind of like eating crab legs, only more messy i'm guessing, i really do need to try one, i shall bother my mom into buying me one
